Session 02: Musical time / Form

During this session, we analysed a variety of musical compositions, made by many different artists , which also came from different backgrounds, each one having their own style. Some musical pieces like “Twinkle twinkle little star ” , a poem written by Jane Taylor, have a structure, although opinions during the session varied. On the other hand, musical pieces like Presque Rien (‘Almost Nothing’) by Luc Ferrari , who recorded the sounds of nature and every-day life in his village , then picked the best parts and merged them together . Overall, this is what music is about. Diversity, mix of cultures, no limits and the message that an artist is trying to give to the audience .
